One of the best music festivals in Costa Rica takes place in Playa Nosara, province of Guanacaste, each year. The Caricaco (Beach Crab) Music Festival has been taking place since 2009, and each iteration has been more exciting than the previous one. This year’s Caricaco Music Festival will be no exception, and it will be held in Finca Austria, closer to Playa Guiones, in order to accommodate the growing fun-loving crowds who show up to hear the best music of Costa Rica in a gorgeous nature setting.

This year’s Caricaco Music Festival will feature more family-friendly options with special activities for children, delicious food and even locally-made products. The organizers want the event to be more than just about great music; they want all concertgoers to be able to invite their families and spend the day as happy Caricacos on the sand.
This year’s lineup has been confirmed as follows:
Blackout – If you liked the recently-split Huba & Silica electronic dance music duo, you will like Blackout even more.
Daniel Patino – This musician leads the way in what is known as the new Costa Rican autochthonous rock sound.
Colornoise – Two Ticas that live up to their band’s name with a great sound of chromatic dissonance.
SEKA – Refreshing, straight-ahead punk rock from a legendary Tico band that has been around for 15 years.
Ojo de Buey – Excellent melodic roots reggae band with tons of followers in Latin America.
Passiflora – Feminine gypsy folk rock with angel-like vocalizations performed by very cute musicians.
Las Robertas – Exactly what the 1990s alternative and garage rock revolution sounded like.
Sonambulo – Infectious fusion jam band known to make people dance for hours.
