This Saturday, May 5, the Minister of Public Works, German Valverde, and President of Costa Rica, Luis Guillermo Solis, inaugurated the works done in the crossroad close to the Juan Santamaria Airport in Alajuela.
According to Valverde, the changes made in this road will make the traffic in the area a lot more fluent, allowing drivers to save as much as 30 minutes to reach their destinations.

The loop will allow drivers that are going towards the area of Rio Segundo through the General Cañas highway to turn off 600 meters before the traffic lights found at the cross way. This new turn will also allow drivers to take the road that leads to the community of INVU-Las Cañas and the center of Alajuela, eliminating the unnecessary delay at the stoplights.

Drivers traveling from San Ramon, Palmares, Grecia and Naranjo and towards Alajuela, Rio Segundo or Heredia will have three lanes for these turns; while those driving from these citiies in the West and to San Jose will see that the traffic lights controlling the access to the General Cañas highway were eliminated.

Additional changes were made all with the purpose of improving the flow of traffic in this area, the Ministry of Public Works will be offering informative flyers to drivers at the Alajuela toll booths.

This is the last road work inaugurated by the Solis administration.
