30-year-old Josh Byrne and his wife Bianca traveled to Costa Rica earlier this week to celebrate their honeymoon after getting married last weekend on a farm in New Hampshire. As they were traveling over a bridge a flash flood dragged the car they were driving into the river. Bianca was able to make it out alive, but so far, there are no signs of Byrne.

The couple was vacationing in the area of Dominicalito in Osa, in the South Pacific of Costa Rica, the accident occurred in the area known as Poza Azul. This sector was severely affected by tropical wave number 40 which caused floods, landslides and extensive damage to the area.

According to our sources the Costa Rican Red Cross and personnel of the Judiciary Investigative Police (OIJ) have been searching for the missing man since the early hours of this Friday but had to suspend their efforts due to the bad weather conditions. The search will resume first thing Saturday morning.

According to the WCVB5abc video below, Byrne’s father and brother are already on their way to Costa Rica to help search for their loved one.
