The company Maderotec was awarded the construction of the new passenger’s terminal of the Limon airport; the company will be in charge of presenting the design inspired on Caribbean architecture, and will have to get all necessary permits to begin the construction work which is expected to begin in October this year and should conclude by February 2020.

The construction of this terminal has a cost of close to $3 million USD, it will be a sustainable building that will include waiting rooms, government offices, division of national and international passenger flow and all required security and health requirements, such as fire prevention system and water treatment plant. The funds are covered by resources of the Technical Council of Civil Aviation (CETAC) and the General Direction of Civil Aviation (DGAC) and its part of the investment promoted by this administration.

“We are constantly improving the airports and innovating the aeronautical sector of the country. Attending the demands of the market ad the quality of service that we are required to offer to the national and foreign tourist”, commented Guillermo Hoppe, Director of DGAC.

This year the country has seen the inauguration of several projects in airports, among them the new four-storey building of the Juan Santamaría International Airport, the improvements of the Upala airfield, and the new terminal at the Drake airfield.
