Another week has gone by in the U.S. Congress with nothing accomplished for the American people. House Democrats spent all week trying to decide how to handle newly elected rogue freshman that are going against the grain with anti-Semitic, anti-Israel and anti-Jew rhetoric.
Specifically, Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn), a Muslim, recently uttered anti-Israel comments that were shocking to say the least coming from a new congresswoman that sits on the House Foreign Relations Committee. Supporting Omar is newly elected Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA).
In her weekly news conference held Thursday Pelosi came to Omar’s defense saying that Omar was inexperienced and didn’t realize what she was saying.
“It’s up to her to explain,” Pelosi said. “But I do not believe she understood the full weight of her words … when you cross that threshold in the Congress, your words weigh much more than when you’re shouting at somebody outside. And I feel confident that her words were not based on any anti-Semitic attitude. But that she didn’t have a full appreciation of how they landed on other people where these words have a history and a cultural impact that might have been unknown to her.”
Omar is on record making anti-Israel statements dating back to 2012. But she still sits on the House Foreign Relations Committee and she apparently will not be admonished by the House Democrats. Some are saying Pelosi caved in to Omar and her supporters.
Clearly the House Democrats became hopelessly sidetracked by the Omar controversy sidelining important issues such as their continued denial of a “national emergency” at the southern border with Mexico as unprecedented numbers of illegal immigrants are attempting to enter the USA.
The Democrats just cannot bring themselves to recognize the obvious that President Donald Trump is 100-percent correct in his assessment that the border situation is indeed a “national emergency” in dire need of attention. But the Democrats are preoccupied with non-issues that matter little to the American people. The voters see the haters doing nothing to move the country forward.
Conservative commentator Rush Limbaugh last week discussed the long-term reasons behind U.S. Rep. Jerrold Nadler (D-NY) – chairman of the House Judiciary Oversight Committee – release of 81 names he expects to question or subpoena in the coming months that are related to President Trump is some way.
“This country’s nowhere near where it needs to be to impeach a president, and that is because the approval number is at 46-percent. Did you hear that? These guys, the Never Trumpers out there, the Drive-By Media, the Democrat Party, they are wallowing in some of the most noteworthy failure that they can recall,” said Limbaugh. “Folks, they’ve given it everything they’ve got. They have fired every weapon. They’ve used every bit of ammo that they’ve always used. And they’ve done it repeatedly. They have done it multiple times a day, every day, for over two years. And Trump’s numbers are now creeping up in their polls. He’s over 50% in the Rasmussen poll.
“Nadler has announced he’s gonna drag 81 witnesses before his committee, including Trump’s former aides, business associates and family members — probably anybody who’s ever met Trump. He says he wants to hold Trump accountable because nobody has held him accountable for the last two years, which is hilarious.
“I’m telling you, they’re setting up the impeachment of Donald Trump after he wins reelection.”
The voters see the haters doing nothing for real Americans.
