This year, Father’s Day in Costa Rica revolves around the World Cup, “Ticos” are known for their love of soccer, and coincidentally “La Sele” will make its debut in Russia at 6 a.m. on Sunday, June 17, a perfect way to start Father’s Day celebration, that is, if they win.
Granted, not all dads like soccer, but in Costa Rica that’s a minority, so promotions and many of the activities planned to celebrate this day revolve around flat screens and “La Sele” jerseys, take for instance the innovative proposal by Costa Rica Beer Factory Inc., the bar-restaurant will install along with mattress company Colchones Jiron 10 comfortable beds where fathers are invited to watch the National Soccer team games scheduled for Sunday, June 17 at 6 a.m. and Friday, June 22 also at 6 a.m. while they enjoy breakfast (Costa Rican, Russian or Brazilian). If this sounds like something you’d like to do, you have to make the reservation ahead of time by calling 6015-1745.
