An alliance between multinational company Generac and Costa Rican company Alco, will allow the creation of a Training Center for professionals such as electrical engineers, electricity technicians and other professionals in this area.

This Training Center in Costa Rica will be the only one of its kind in Central America and the second in Latin America, their current one functions in their 15,000-square meter factory in Mexico City.

Generac Power systems is a manufacturer of backup power generation products among other products. Alco is a Costa Rican company with offices in Lagunilla, Heredia, that provides different equipment for construction needs.

According to Frank Moreno, Generac Latin America’s Sales Director, they picked Costa Rica because of the qualified labor, the up to date electric regulations and state-of-the-art technology in the commercial, industrial and residential markets.

The goal of the training center is to prepare professionals in the electrical sector not just from Costa Rica but also from the Central America and South America region, in the different solutions and technologies existent today; the knowledge they get will allow the professionals not only to improve their income conditions but will also increase the levels of security and the life cycle of the equipment and technology being used.

Alco expects the center to be ready to begin classes in February or March of 2017. Courses will be given in a monthly basis to small groups of around 15 people.
