Costa Rica’s Convention Center (CCCR) was elected as the site for the next World Congress of Veterinary Medicine, which is scheduled for April 27 to April 30 2019, this will be the first world congress that will be take place at the Convention Center.
This event expects the participation of close to 1500 veterinarians. The event is organized by Comexp, Professional Congress Organization company.
“The designation of Costa Rica as site for this world event for veterinary professionals represents a sign of trust in the talent and capacity on Costa Rican human talent”, stated Nuvia Ramírez, General Manager of Comexp.
This is a great opportunity for Costa Ricans to meet the organizers of international congresses who first choose the destination, and then pick the venue for the event, then the providers that will handle the operation of the event, among others. “To attract this congress the synergy between several institutions and the Convention Center was necessary. We will be working strategically to contribute with the rest of the institutions to attract other events like this to the country”, commented Alvaro Rojas, General Manager of the CCCR.
For Gustavo Alvarado, Director of Tourism Management of the Costa Rica Tourism Board, this is the first first result of the efforts of promotion that have been carried out in the area of Convention and Congress tourism with the purpose of attracting big international events.
“The possibility of attracting a world congress of this types contributes to the strengthening of Costa Rica’s position in this segment, proving that we have the necessary conditions to receive these type of events, a committed private sector, with a high quality of service, we have a country of enviable geographic conditions and with several close by tourism attractions that will compliment the experience of the tourists in this segment”, explained Alvarado.
The CCCR offers three rooms of different dimensions, that can be divided in different areas, six meeting rooms, press room, VIP rooms, kitchen area, among others. It has capacity for 5,600 people.
