Kiss was born in New York City in January 1973 and its original lineup included Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, Peter Criss and Ace Frehley.

The band quickly gained attention not just because of its music but for its members’ face paint and stage outfits, their live performances were also full of surprises including fire breathing, blood-spitting, pyrotechnics, among others. Criss and Frehley left the group in 1982.
