Yo Emprendedor” (I Entrepreneur) has started its 5th annual initiative in Costa Rica to give opportunity to future entrepreneurs. The initiative helps business developers showcase their plans and aids them in gaining the resources that will increase the probability of success in their enterprises.

“It’s the person who makes and enables technological and scientific progress. We need a nation of entrepreneurs to be a nation based off of innovation and entrepreneurship,” said Minister Alejandro Cruz of MICIT (Cost Rican Ministry of Science and Technology) at the national competition of business plans, “I Entrepreneur” on Tuesday.

“Yo Emprendedor”, is a non-profit organization whose mission is the development of entrepreneurs and an ecosystem that is adequate for the emergence of new businesses.

“It’s essential that we support this initiative like all others who support entrepreneurship in this country,” said the Minister in his speech.

In the four other editions of “Yo Emprendedor”, Cruz has analyzed over 600 business opportunities. Of the 600, 50 were presented where investors derived over $3 million in investments.

“Productivity, innovation, and entrepreneurship are part of an ecosystem, and we are ready to hear your ideas and proposals,” concluded Minister Cruz.
