Finca LaPatria Costa Rica

Finca LaPatria is a small alternative farm with the main objective of being as self-sustaining as possible. It is located along the Azahar river in Tacacori. It is a small town in the province of Alajuela, Costa Rica.

The farm has a small greenhouse, organic orchards, gardens, paths which lead to the river and a swimming pool with natural spring water. It also hosts recreational activities such as yoga, musical events and workshops.

LaPatria wishes to be a platform and sanctuary for those looking to be collaborative and creative. Open to any and all creative endeavors that fall in line with the farm’s ethos, we are always looking for hardworking creative types, volunteers and professionals.

LaPatria boasts an open air seating area and kitchen currently working as a “pop-up” restaurant location for small businesses.

It is our mission to be a sustainable project, reusing our organic waste to create compost which we then use to cultivate what we serve. Our vision is to reach a point where our kitchen is as autonomous as possible. That being said we do support local producers in solidarity with the organic community. We want to offer maximum transparency between the consumer and the product, always promoting the reduction of waste, and environmental consciousness, while providing a unique experience.

LaPatria abides by the DIY ethic and has a workshop on sight where all of the furniture, structures and crafts are made. It also hosts a wide variety of workshops, art/crafts fairs, live music and private events.

As a project which seeks to be low impact and promote the local, organic and fair trade economy, LaPatria looks forward to your visit in the hopes that you will collaborate with our vision.
