Comic Con will have its first ever edition in Costa Rica in 2020, the event will take place July 4th and 5th at Parque Viva.

Comic Convention events began in San Diego, California, and its a non-profit public benefit event organized for charitable purposes and dedicated to creating the public´s appreciation for comics and related popular art forms and their contribution ot art and culture.

Comic Con now takes place in different major cities, such as New York and Las Vegas, and countries such as Mexico; it gathers hundreds of thousands of comic books, pop art, movie and entertainment fans.

The event in Costa Rica will gather as it does in other countries, writers, illustrators, actors, gamers and different personalities of the industry. Special guests will be announced in February and the tickets will also be available for purchase starting that month and the prices will be of between 12 thousand to 19 thousand colones (approx. $21-$33.50 USD)

Organizers of the event have mentioned they expect to have two or three personalities related to comics, two cosplay characters, and four television and movie actors.

In addition to this the event will offer food and drinks stands, special activities such as foam fighting and droid hunt, goodies market, exhibitions, games, and a “rock, scissors, paper, Spock, lizard” championship inspired by TV show “The Big Bang Theory”.
