Located along the sumptuous Gulf of Papagayo in Costa Rica’s northern Guanacaste province, Hotel El Mangroove recently stunned ABC’s Good Morning America producers with their swimming pool.

Ranking second after a hotel in the Seychelles, El Mangroove’s 130-foot-long fresh-water, black-tiled pool directly faces the Pacific Ocean.

“Flanked by private cabanas and lounge chairs … (the pool is) a ‘see and be seen’ gathering locale where guests can listen to the beats of the resident DJ as well as international DJs. There’s also an indoor-outdoor restaurant that serves playful dishes in an “oceanfront sandbox” setting,” said the TV program on April 30, 2016.

For haute cuisine seekers, the hotel is hosting the 3rd edition of their international gastronomy festival called “Five chefs, five courses, one night” the weekend of July 29 – 31. Chefs Fernando Rivalora (Argentina), Daniel Burns (U.S.A.), Sebastian La Rocca (Argentina / Costa Rica), Renzo Garibaldi (Perú) and Diego Telles (Guatemala) will offer classes, demonstrations, and of course, some delicious dining.

The four-star hotel is “the closest resort to an international airport in Costa Rica, just 20 minutes from touch down to the sand,” according to their website, and has 150 meters of beach front along the Gulf’s Playa Panama.

Just a couple more reasons to pack up and hit the coast.
