Costa Rica (Rich Coast), has become a favorite playground for rich and famous Americans, i.e. Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, Gisele Bundchen, Mel Gibson, Usher, Leonardo DiCaprio, and many other celebrity Americans who visit Costa Rica to unwind, relax and have quality time with their families. Recently Kim Kardashian’s oldest daughter, North West, daughter of Kanye West, and barely 6-years old, has fallen in love with Costa Rica and wants to live there permanently.

Kim Kardashian commented on North’s new found country crush recently, “North cannot stop talking about Costa Rica. She has begged us to return there, and told me that when she grows up she wants to move there permanently.”
The Kardashians visited Costa Rica in June of this year. They brought all four of their children, as well as Kourtney Kardashian, Scott Disick, and all Kourtney’s children. Kim’s husband is the musician/businessman Kanye West. On November 3, an episode of “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” featured the family’s vacation in Costa Rica, complete with video and photos of the celebrities frolicking in the ocean, in bathing suits that seemed two sizes too small. It was in this episode that Kim revealed daughter North’s infatuation with Costa Rica.

In January 2017, Kim, mother Kriss Jenner, and sisters Kylie, Kourtney and Khloe vacationed in an exclusive resort on Peninsula Papagayo, with an entourage of nursemaids and bodyguards to help protect and supervise their various kids. They stayed at the magnificent Villa Manzu Resort, where they were photographed extensively by local and international press – not to mention endless selfies posted on their own Instagrams. One of the Kardashian sisters on that trip famously called Costa Rica “a great island to visit”, a mistake often made by new visitors to the country.

As seven percent of Costa Rica’s GDP comes from tourism, and thirteen percent provides direct and indirect employment to the locals, having celebrities like the Kardashians visit, and celebrate their time in Costa Rica with stunning photos of the flora and fauna is a real boost to the tourism economy.

The country took a hit recently after news stories appeared about plane wrecks, rafting disasters, attacks on female tourists, and tainted alcohol appeared in the international press. Having a six – year old super fan of Costa Rica can only be a positive thing. Especially one who knows they are not an island
