The Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week San Jose has become one of the most expected events not just of the fashion industry but of the entertainment world in Costa Rica and the region, this years edition will take place Wednesday May 2 through Saturday, May 5, at its usual venue, the Real Intercontinental Hotel in Escazu.

Earlier this year the organization of the MBFWSJ had announced he participation of ten national designers and just yesterday they confirmed the participation of nine international designers, the international roaster is headed by Spanish designer Agatha Ruiz de la Prada y Sentmenat, known for her extroverted and bold designs usually saturated in color, she has dressed stars such as Miley Cyrus; also from Spain, designer Maria Escoté will be presenting her work in this edition, Escoté’s designs have been worn by Katy Perry, Zendaya and Miley Cyrus; Juan Carlos Obando, a Colombian designer whose creations have been chosen by one Anna Wintour, editor in chief of Vogue, his magnificent night gowns have also been worn by Julia Roberts, Jessica Alba and Cate Blanchett; British designer Helen Anthony; Venezuelan Angel Sanchez (judge of Project Runway Latin America); Mexicans Andres Jimenez and Alfredo Martinez; Efrain Mogollon from Venezuela and completing the list Fernando Alberto Atelier from Venezuela.

Costa Rican and Colombian models will be showcasing the amazing and creative designs in a runway that will have a unique format that, according to Traffic magazine, will double the front row seating spaces and in this way will offer a greater experience to the attending public.

As in the last edition, the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week San Jose, will also include the work of designers of the fashion cluster Estilo Costa Rica from the Costa Rica Foreign Commerce Promotion Agency (PROCOMER) and the students of Fashion Design of the Universities Veritas and Creativa.
