“Orgasm fundamentally roots our capacity for connection: hormonally, emotionally and spiritually,” says organizer of a weeklong retreat with practices for couples to achieve deep connections through “orgasmic consciousness”, Nicole Daedone.

“It’s that feeling of being so completely absorbed in an experience that there is no psychic chatter, no being “stuck in your head”; a falling away of the ego,” continues Daedone, an orgasmic meditation instructor who explains her work in the video below.

From Sunday, March 5 – Saturday, March 11, 2017, the workshop, Tantra ~ Orgasmic Meditation ~ Sacred Dance, will be held at the Iguana Lodge on the lush Southern Pacific Osa Peninsula.

Leaders of the event, which is priced at $3,600, not including airfare, say the experience will lead to a connection with one’s “authentic self.”

“Through practices centered on love, intimacy, orgasmic consciousness, including tantra, sacred dance and more, we enter into a space within ourselves and with our partner where healing, connection and deeper union can flourish,” say event organizers on the activity’s website.

Adults 18 and older can participate with a partner for an, “integration of sex-positive practices including orgasmic meditation, tantric practices, and sacred dance.”

“Orgasmic Meditation (OM) is a consciousness practice that is designed for partners to experience more connection, vitality, pleasure, and meaning in every aspect of their lives. A partner strokes a woman’s clitoris for 15 minutes with no goal other than to feel, connect, and be present. With practice, you develop a larger state of consciousness, have better intimacy, and stronger connections.”

The event website explains this activity as follows: “The stroker remains fully clothed, seated on a zafu (pillow) next to the strokee, and the strokee, who is laying on a mat covered by a blanket and pillows to support her head and legs, is only undressed from the waist down. Gloves are worn to ensure safety and lube is used to avoid discomfort.”

The purpose of OM is to create a safe space where the woman can let down her guard and experience absolute acceptance and trust. The video here describes the practice in more detail.

“The ancient Hindu and Buddhist practice of tantric meditation involves using sexual union as a metaphor for weaving together the physical and the spiritual,” say event organizers, “weaving man to woman, and humanity to the divine. The Western form of this sacred sexuality called Tantra teaches slow, non-orgasmic sexual intercourse.”

“Common tantric practices include couples facing each other with her legs wrapped around his waist, with or without clothes, and eye gazing into the left eye, synchronized breathing, facial caressing, and more—all leading to ecstatic pleasure and connection without climaxing,” explain workshop leaders.

This workshop is a follow-on to last year’s which is described as having helped people to honor their desire; the event leaders are from the U.S.
