The National Emergency Commission (CNE) recommended prevention as two new tropical waves will be arriving to the country this week.

According to the National Meteorology Institute, tropical wave number 40 will hit this Thursday while the effects of number 41 will be felt during the weekend, affecting mainly the Central and South Pacific as well as the Central Valley, this type of phenomenon is typical of the rainy season during this time a year.

The saturation of the floors is the main concern of the CNE particularly in the regions affected by the heavy rains of the past week, Guanacaste and Puntarenas “There are areas affected that suffered the impacts of the rain last week, the population should take precautions and stay vigilant and alert to the instructions of the local emergency committees”, explained Alexander Solis, President of the CNE.

Solis informed that the alerts will remain until the areas are completely under control particularly those were the swelling of the rivers represent a high risk and the floors are also saturated.

The last update confirms 512 people in 12 shelters. The areas of Paquera and Jicaral suffered devastating effects.
