The Ministry of Public Works and Transportation (MOPT) announced this Sunday evening the temporary closure of Route 32 which connects San Jose to Limon due to a mudslide in kilometer 30.
According to the information shared, the road is completely closed and for now they do not have an estimated time on when it will reopen, “we will inform tomorrow of the hour it will reopen, once the road is cleared up”.
Those who are traveling from San Jose to the Caribbean can use alternative routes such as Turrialba and Bajos de Chilamate as well as Vara Blanca.
This route suffered a preventive temporary closure Saturday evening and it was reopened at around 7 a.m. this Sunday. The rains that have affected the Caribbean continue to cause problems in this national route and represent a risk for users.
