The new ambassadors of India, Shamma Jain; the Vatican, Nuncio Antonio Arcari; Turkey, Ali Findik; Armenia, Grigor Hovhannissian; and Germany, Ingo Winkelmann, recently presented their diplomatic credentials to President Luis Guillermo Solís Rivera of Costa Rica.

 

The President received the diplomats in the Golden Hall of the Casa Amariila (Yellow House), the San Jose headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He was accompanied by Minister of Foreign Affairs Alejandro Solano.

 

The new Apostolic Nuncio, Monsignor Arcari, is a PhD in Canon Law. He entered the diplomatic service of the Holy See in 1982 and has worked in the Pontifical Representations in Central African Republic, United States, Bolivia, Ireland, Croatia, Albania and Peru. In 2003, he was appointed Apostolic Nuncio in Honduras and of Mozambique in 2008.

 

The new Ambassador of Turkey studied Economics and Administrative Sciences and has a Master in Social Sciences. He has held various positions, including Third and Second Secretary in Buenos Aires, Attaché and Third Secretary in Lithuania as well as Deputy Consul General in Houston.

 

The new Ambassador of India holds a Master of International Policy; she has held various positions in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of her country and in nations such as Côte d’Ivoire, Italy, Philippines, United States, Turkey, and Argentina. The Ambassador is based in Panama and is concurrent to Nicaragua and Costa Rica.

 

The new Ambassador of Armenia holds a Master in Law and Diplomacy, was Consul General in Los Angeles, and has held various positions in the Secretariat of the United Nations (UN) as the Mission Coordinator Emergency Lebanon, Chief Advisor Assistance Mission of the UN in Iraq, Coordinator of the Region in Palestinian territories in the West Bank, Team Leader and Emergency Planning Office of the UN Special Coordinator for the peace process in the Middle East, among others.

 

The Ambassador of Germany, Ingo Winkelmann, who presented credentials to Chancellor González in August, has a doctorate in law from the University of Munich, and has studied Political Science and Legal Science in Freiburg and Geneva. He is a trainer for senior officers in his Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
