The investigation began early the day of September 21st, 2017 when the Costa Rican Police found a body inside the trunk of a car which was abandoned near the Juan Santamaria International Airport.
The victim was identified as Rosemarie Bockhold, 80-years-old and a native of Germany who lived in Piedades, Santa Ana, San Jose.
According to the investigation conducted by the judiciary investigative police, two brothers with the help of a security guard that worked in the residential area planned a robbery in the residence of the woman, they stole jewelry and a safe with cash and asphyxiated the senior citizen.
The brothers of last name Carmona were arrested this Tuesday morning, one of them in his house in Carrillos de Alajuela and the other in Coronado, San Jose. The third man was already in preventive custody.
Cameras located in the residential community and others near the Juan Santamaria Airport, helped the police identify the car used by the criminals; authorities also received confidential information that helped them locate the suspects.
The body was found wrapped in a blanket in the trunk of a Toyota Rav 4 which was registered under the name of the victim’s son.
