The President of Costa Rica, Laura Chinchilla, called for an international alliance to protect youth from risks of cyberspace.

The governmental sectors, private and civil society participated in this effort, stated Chinchilla during her participation at “Connecting the Americas,” hosted by the International Union of Telecommunications (UIT) in Panama.

“If we want to protect our children in an efficient way, it will require an international alliance. This meeting is calling us to make a balance in our actions and results,” stated Chinchilla.

The project identifies the risk on cyberspace for the minor population all over the world.

Through this project we want to create conscience about the risk, exchange experiences and design effective tools for protecting our youth.

Our youngest generations are heirs of the advantage that technology has created for us.

Never before have we had the opportunity to close the social gaps and answer questions in an extensive way and in such short time.

The new generations are able to research history, travel around the globe and venture into all walks of science, all with the click of a mouse!
