There is a strong effort underway in the British parliament to remove Prime Minister Theresa May from office and then conduct a second referendum vote on the United Kingdom leaving the European Union. Sounds familiar doesn’t it? The British people already voted last year to exit the EU, but the pro-EU forces cannot accept the vote and they are fighting tooth and nail to remain in the EU despite the will of the people.
In a related matter, weekend riots occurred in France over $7-a-gallon gas prices, cost of living increases, the French welfare state and unchecked immigration. French President Emmanuel Macron’s socialistic policies are on full display and it’s not pretty. In Macron’s thinking raising gas taxes would help pay for the welfare state that France clearly cannot afford to continue with. Another reason to hike gas taxes is to move away from fossil fuels which is a worthy goal, but they are nowhere near doing that. Taxes will not fix this, but new technologies will. There is no replacement now for the current internal combustion engines that power cars and trucks. Yes, electric cars and trucks are on the horizon but they are still in the research and development stage a long way down the road as far as consumption by the masses goes.
But it’s the actual French citizens that are rebelling in mass with 1,600 protests across France with the biggest demonstration held in downtown Paris on the historic Champs-Elysees that produced riots in the streets, burning vehicles, tear gas, high-pressure crowd-control water hoses with French police in full-riot-gear fighting their own people.
The Paris riots were covered on TV news worldwide. Not a good picture of the realities of socialism. Looks just like riot scenes coming from Venezuela and Nicaragua.
The Democrats want to bring their brand of progressive socialism to the shores of the United States of America — so think again Americans. The brave people of France that were rioting are the good guys fighting to save the France they grew up in by pushing back hard against failing unworkable socialist thinking. It is they that want to Make France Great Again.
Meanwhile, down south at the Mexico/Tijuana/USA border the situation is in showdown mode. As things stand now it is estimated that it will take two to four years to process all of the illegal immigrants seeking asylum, but many more thousands of Central Americans are soon to arrive in Tijuana adding to the chaos. Their asylum applications most likely will result in blanket denials by the thousands leaving them all stranded in Mexico until the new administration of President Andres Obrador decides how to deal with this onslaught of humanity being thrust upon the citizen residents of Mexico and Tijuana against their will. President-elect Obrador takes office on Friday.
President Trump remains steadfast in his direct orders to — the U.S. Homeland Security Agency, the U.S. Border Patrol Police and the U.S. Immigration Customs Enforcement (ICE) — not to allow any of the Central Americans to cross the border. The border entry between Tijuana and California is under assault by these Central Americans that are attempting to find ways to overwhelm border security any way they can allowing the illegals entry. This border crossing has been closed to all north and southbound traffic several times in recent days causing havoc at the busiest border crossing from California to Texas.
President Trump is threatening to shut down the government at the end of December if the U.S. Congress fails to provide billions in funding to build the proposed border wall from California to Texas.
“Mexico should move the flag waving Migrants, many of whom are stone cold criminals, back to their countries. Do it by plane, do it by bus, do it anyway you want, but they are NOT coming into the U.S.A. We will close the border permanently if need be. Congress, fund the WALL!” said President Trump in a Monday tweet.
So there you go folks. Pro-EU forces cannot accept the will of the English people and they want to remove the duly-elected prime minister standing in their way. Now we have these socialist policies tearing apart France. At the same time there is the misguided socialist driven rush of Central Americans to the southern USA/Mexico border. The Democrats want all this discord happening in America too – they really do.
P.S. Here’s an original suggestion for the obvious long-standing public perception problems of the U.S. Immigration Customs Enforcement. Your acronym of ICE sounds pretty cold so how about change it to NICE for the National Immigration Customs Enforcement. NICE sounds better than ICE. How would anyone want to disband NICE?
