Former bass player and singer of the famous band Pink Floyd, legend Roger Waters, sold out the National Stadium in Costa Rica and the President of Costa Rica, Carlos Alvarado and the First Lady, Claudia Dobles were among those 46,000 people privileged to enjoy the concert but also among the very few to meet Waters in person, Alvarado is a known fan of the band and Waters since his teen years.

“Almost 70 years ago (this December 1st) we abolished the army. A milestone that has made the whole world talk about Costa Rica as a country that gave priority to education over weapons. Today, I gave Roger Waters the photo of the moment in which don Pepe (José María Figueres, President of Costa Rica in 1948), demolished part of the Bellavista Quarters, symbolizing the abolishing of the army”, shared President Alvarado on his Facebook page along with the video of this moment next to Waters.

Twelve Costa Ricans children had the privilege to share the stage with Waters singing the chorus of the famous song Another Brick in the Wall; they are part of the chorus of the Oratorio Don Bosco, they don’t speak English, but they quickly learned the famous “We don’t need no education”.
